Pinty's Delicious Foods is looking for an Industrial Electrician (442A or 309A Licensed) who will be responsible for the set-up, repair, and safe/efficient operation of all production equipment. The electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures and will ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. The electrician must be able to read blueprints and other drawings.

Schedule:

  • 2:00pm - 10:30pm (Mon-Fri)
  • Frequent overtime required based on production needs
  • Weekend availability required for repairs and maintenance as needed

Compensation:

  • $34.75/hr
  • Daily overtime after 8hrs

General Duties:

  • Follows all company safety procedures and policies including wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), using proper lifting techniques, and properly locking out equipment.
  • Follows all Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), British Retail Consortium (BRC) requirements to ensure the manufacture of Ready to Eat (RTE) chicken products.
  • Completes all specific job duties as outlined and in the Operator Proficiency Checklist
  • Meets company attendance requirements.
  • Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical equipment-servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily based on mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Getting Information by observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Inspecting equipment, Structures, or Material to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Making decisions and Solving Problems by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge, keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Handling and Moving Objects by using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events-identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • All operators will be trained on SOP’s and records as reference to Master Document control list.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Diagnose machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and other specialized repair equipment as required.
  • Test and adjust repaired equipment to maintain or improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Perform scheduled Preventive and Predictive maintenance services.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Communicate with Supervisors, Managers and equipment operators on work performed.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, tow motors and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, welding equipment and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor and / or Manager.
  • Back-up for other millwright workers as required.
  • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Electrical repairs-checking fuses and diagnose.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment.
  • Work with ESA.

Skills Required/Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience as a licensed 442A or 309A Electrician
  • Manufacturing/Industrial experience is an asset
  • Food Manufacturing experience is an asset
  • PLC Programming knowledge/experience is an asset
  • Able to lift weight of up to 50lbs
  • Able to work in a warm/cold environment
  • Comfortable working with and around raw and/or cooked meat products
