Taseko is also advancing the Florence Copper Project in Arizona – a near-term copper producer with an unparalleled energy, water and GHG profile per unit of production. Florence Copper is a unique ‘in-situ copper recovery’ project which, once operating, will significantly increase Taseko’s copper production. Taseko expects to receive its final federal permit for the Florence Copper Project in 2022, after which construction will commence. The project will have a production capacity of 85 million pounds of copper per year over a 20-year mine life.
The Yellowhead Project is a large, long-life copper project that Taseko added to its development portfolio in 2019. Located 150km north of Kamloops in the Thompson-Nicola region of BC, the Yellowhead deposit is similar to the Gibraltar deposit in size and grade. The Company is currently preparing to initiate the provincial and federal Environmental Assessment process for Yellowhead, while advancing technical and other work required to move the project towards production.

Key Responsibilitie s
Oversite of the day-to-day metallurgical performance of the plant and participation in optimizing SAG/Ball mill and copper/molybdenum flotation circuits.- Maintaining process monitoring equipment, ensuring controllers are effective and operational.
- Development of operational guidelines, providing technical information and training to Operations.
- Development and execution of mill capital and operational projects.
- Preparation and publishing daily metallurgical balances.
- Investigation of process issues and development of solutions to optimize efficiency.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- 0 - 3 years of base metal mineral processing experience.
- Experience with most/all of crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering processes is an asset.
- Experience with metallurgical test programs (laboratory and/or plant scale) is an asset.
- Good working knowledge of all MS office applications with the ability to perform basic programming in Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Driver’s license valid in Canada.
Education
A degree in Metallurgical, Mineral Processing, Chemical or other related Engineering field and enrolled (or eligible to enroll) as an EIT with EGBC.
