Role Overview/Purpose:

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator’s key responsibilities are storage area maintenance, equipment operation, and materials handling.

Primary Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Inspection of equipment before and after use to ensure proper functionality

• Loading, unloading, and moving materials to appropriate storage areas

• Excavation of trenches for buried services

• Following all safety procedures while operating equipment

• Performing regular maintenance (refuelling, fluid checks, lubrication) and minor repairs when necessary

• Reporting equipment issues, unusual conditions, and spillage immediately to Supervisor

• Staging materials to be brought down for Underground Operations

• Emptying garbage bins

• Maintaining good housekeeping at storage areas

• Snow removal during winter months

• All other activities as assigned by the Site Services Supervisor

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as heavy equipment operator (excavator, loader, and forklift)

• Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract

• A commitment to health, safety, environment, and community

• Works effectively independently and collaboratively

Working Conditions:

• Role is a 7-on / 7-off

Physical Requirements:

• Role is not physically demanding
