Position: Heavy Duty Mechanic / Technician
Level: Journeyman Preferred - Will Considered 3rd or 4th-period apprentices with off-road exp.
Salary: $44.00 – 50.00/hr Depending on experience
Nisku Shop Location
We are currently looking to hire 3 heavy-duty technicians for our Nisku Shop. This position will be working on a wide variety of off-road equipment (Haul trucks/rock trucks, Dozers, Scrapers, Loaders, Packers, Excavators, etc.)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Inspect, Diagnose, and make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement;
· Repair the equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner;
· Work as a team, training apprentices, coordinating with other departments
· Interpret work orders and technical manuals;
· Employ workplace health and safety practices at all times;
· Be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certificate. Other requirements include, but are not limited to:
· Interprovincial Red Seal is considered an asset
· Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy-duty equipment
· Experience with Cat, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo Equipment is considered an asset
· Strong commitment to safety
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
