Position Overview
As a Heavy Equipment Operator you will safely operate our large equipment supporting our utility group. You will work with the Foreperson on the safe execution of work for a number of our clients. In this role you will be required to travel to multiple sites across a region; as a result frequent overnight stays will be required.
Job Duties
- Operation of Hydro Axe, Excavator and/or Skid Steer, Mulcher.
- Conduct vehicle and equipment checks prior to operation.
- Assistance in loading/unloading equipment at different work locations.
- Groundwork support for trimming operations; chainsaw use, chipping / loading brush.
- Assist the Trimmers and Foreman in job site setup, debris removal, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
- Willing and able to temporarily move locations as contract progresses.
Qualifications
- Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
- 3 years’ experience with excavators, mulchers or front-end loaders.
- General landscaping experience.
- Experience with chainsaw and chipping operations.
- Positive attitude and work ethic, willingness to learn and progress.
- Ability to work safely, as part of crew team.
- Bondable with no prior criminal record.

- Full time. Year-round employment.
- Mostly rural locations.
- Daily Per Diem. Hotel expenses covered while on assignment.
- Occasional overtime required.
