Phoenix Rising is a multi-faceted organization that provides services to all women with or without children including those experiencing concerns with mental health, addictions and/or domestic violence. As an organization we operate from within a feminist framework, in which equality for women is encouraged, the practice of women helping women is promoted, and individual differences are respected. Phoenix Rising provides safe and affordable rent geared to income housing for women with or without children. This position is Monday-Friday but may need to work some evenings, weekends and have a flexible work schedule.

Direct Service

- Oversee the day-to-day operations at the Phoenix Rising Women’s building

- Work closely with Center Co-ordinator, Students, Volunteers, live in super intendant and Board of Directors

- Provide support and advocacy for women experiencing mental health issues, addictions and/or domestic violence through coordinating activities on a drop-in basis at the building once a week

- Provide case management and services to the five support in housing units with weekly meetings

- Directly reports to the Board of Directors

- Connect and build partnerships with local agencies to expand available services

- Facilitate the development of peer support networks, problem solving, goal setting, and assist in empowering woman to set and reach their goals

- Review cameras and connect with emergency services when a crisis arises at the building and coordinate with Police and ambulance as needed

- Maintain client records and statistics in keeping with Ministry and agency standards

- Collect rent, process payroll, implement eviction notices and attend tribunal

- Review applications for prioritize new tenancy

- Perform office duties, emailing, and responding to messages, applying for grants, etc.

- Provide coverage at Phoenix drop-in Center when needed

- Liaise with appropriate community mental health, addictions and domestic violence agencies and make appropriate referrals as required

- Support in planning, securing funds and attending annual events

Qualifications

- Minimum Five years experience in Social Services; Mental Health, Addictions and or Domestic Violence

- Supervisor/manager experience required

- Registered M.S.W. is preferred

- Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent

- Excellent understanding of feminist philosophy and a demonstrated ability to work within a feminist client centered approach

- Knowledge of mental health, addictions and domestic violence issues and pertinent legislation, particularly as they pertain to women

- Knowledge of local community agencies, for referral basis

- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills

- Valid G drivers license, access to a reliable vehicle

- Both vulnerable record check and criminal record check required

- CPR and First Aid Certification

Salary- $30.00 per hour/35 hours per week.
