What you will do


Under direct supervision, runs cable, mounts devices, and completes assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of security systems per contract obligations.


How you will do it

  • Works alone or with other experienced personnel to find solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems. Requires understanding of core security products, software and systems / electrical technology.
  • Assists in performing required commissioning documentation. Deliver accurate information for as-builts documentation.
  • Adheres to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Continuous proactive customer interactions including an in-depth understanding of customer(s) needs and systems currently in place.
  • Assists in monitoring project execution per plan. Reports problems or changes to supervisor or management.
  • Completes paperwork and on-site documentation as required.
  • Performs self-study (reading, research, and practice) to obtain technical proficiency on required products and application.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


What we look for

Required

  • College Diploma minimum
  • 1-2 years experience in installing fire or security systems for large Commercial or National based customers.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
  • Basic digital literacy required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to explain technical information to non-technical people.
  • Valid Driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Minimum 2 year of experience working with alarm systems for large Commercial or National based customers.
  • Electronics certification from an accredited technical school desired.
  • Experience working with DMP, Honeywell, BOSCH, and DSC alarm panels
  • Experience installing data and voice cabling (Cat5e & Cat 6) and installation CCTV Systems
  • Familiar with Access Control installation and programming. Genetec, CCure, Lenel, Kantech. Manufacturer based certification on these products preferred.
  • Experience installing installation CCTV Systems, and data and voice cabling (Cat5e & Cat 6)
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Solid command of the English language – both spoken & written
  • Neat appearance and good customer service skills
  • Ability to work alone
  • Ability to accommodate a variety of assignments at various locations
  • Ability to work independently and offer assistance if required to other technicians
  • The ability to lift heavy objects, tools and climb a ladder
  • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • You will interact with consumers daily and should be comfortable and able to effectively communicate/train customers
  • Comfortable with using handheld tools and working at heights
  • Diligently completing and submitting work orders.
  • You will be exposed to a variety of weather elements including heat, cold, wind, and rain
