The Role

Reporting to the Parts Manager - Mississauga, the Field Parts Associate is responsible for parts delivery, increased parts sales, and inventory maintenance at assigned accounts. The incumbent will work in conjunction with other company personnel in calling on existing consignment and non-consignment parts customers. The focus will be on retaining the assigned parts customers, identifying new parts sales opportunities within the assigned customers, and increasing parts sales volumes through superior service and support.

  • · Deliver parts to existing consignment and non-consignment customers on a routine schedule to maintain sales of replacement parts. Load and unload parts.
  • · Ensure customers are properly educated on parts ordering procedures and inventory organization requirements that maximize equipment uptime and overall customer satisfaction.
  • · Maintain accurate, organized, and timely parts inventories within parts customer locations. Maintain parts inventories commensurate with usage requirements and for associated parts that may be omitted or alternatively sourced.
  • · Coordinate parts deliveries for other Crown personnel as needed.
  • · Process, track, and manage all aspects of parts orders through Crown Branch established programs and procedures.
  • · Provide historical information on key accounts as established by Crown.
  • · Identify opportunities within existing accounts and then sell additional parts products that are not currently being purchased from the Company. These additional parts could be category parts, OP parts, or any other missed parts sales opportunities not discovered previously.
  • · Maintain proper paperwork and account management files. Obtain signatures as required.
  • · Assist with pick-up and delivery of parts, supplies, and paperwork from other locations as needed.
  • · Perform other duties as assigned, inside and outside the parts department.

Education and Qualifications

  • · This position requires a high school diploma.
  • · A valid driver’s license is required.
  • · Two years’ experience as a technical parts representative or field service technician within the material handling industry, and knowledge of service parts inventory control is necessary.
  • · This position requires good communication, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
  • · Computer skills and working knowledge of Excel and Word programs.
  • · Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and vehicles.
  • · Must be able to safely operate tire press to press on and off tires from hubs for customers (training will be provided.)
  • · Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lb, bend/stoop/twist, squat, and grip/grasp; and occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 150 lb.
