As ONE KIDS PLACE – Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.


This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Program, Applicants must meet the criteria of the program to be eligible for this position.


POSITION:
Finance Administrator (Contract, Full Time)

LOCATION: North Bay

DURATION: 8 weeks – 35 hours a week

EFFECTIVE: July 2023 - August 2023


POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Administrator will work under the supervision of the Director of Business Planning and Analysis to provide administrative support and ensure financial activities are undertaken in a timely and professional manner. The Finance Administrator will assist the department in cleaning up its processes which will involve interacting with departments to correct or revise expense codes/coding, in addition to communicating with staff members on changes in processes such as submitting expenses and mileage. The Financial Administrator will be working with the finance team as well as other departments including; HR, IT, clinical staff, and external families. This role will require them to work frequently on a computer utilizing a variety of systems such as a payroll, expenses, human resources, and even client relations management system. They will be gathering data and compiling reports in excel, analyzing the data, and assisting in making recommendations on how to proceed.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Review processes to improve accuracy in expense codes/coding
  • Communicate to staff members changes in processes
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team on financial projects
  • Gather data to compile reports, analyzing the data to assist in making recommendations
  • Organizing and maintaining storage spaces within the North Bay site
  • Identify and address discrepancies within the financial reporting

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria
  • Prior studies or experience in finance, economics or business administration an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, including punctuality, reliability and willingness to take direction
  • Able to meet tight deadlines
  • Computer competency and adaptable in the use of computer financial software programs
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to analyze financial data, conduct research and interpret financial statements
  • An understanding of financial terms and technical language
  • Good attendance / work record
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred
  • Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

As this is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position, please note eligible candidates must meet the following additional criteria:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

COMPENSATION: $15.50 hourly
