Our fine dining restaurant at the National Bank Open is looking to add an experienced Host(ess) to the team.

Event Description:

The National Bank Open is a prestigious professional tennis tournament that takes place from August 5th-13th.

Job Requirements:

• SmartServe Certification
• Experience in luxury or fine-dining operations.
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Can remain calm and courteous in times of high demand.
• Have strong time management skills, and able to make decisions regarding guest requests and table assignment quickly and efficiently
• Have a friendly and open attitude.
• Must be available to work every day for the duration of the event as we only hire one candidate per position.

Job Description:

• Create a positive guest experience that begins with a proper greeting.
• Maintain an efficient and organized restaurant through managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating with all employees.
• Assess challenging situations and make appropriate decisions on how to resolve them in a professional and timely manner
• Deliver professional, courteous, and efficient service to our Guests
• Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity.
• Communicate with Servers, Bartenders and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant.
• Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation and seat them accordingly.
• Accurately take reservations and modify guest status when needed
• Ensure that the front entrance, host stand and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris.
• Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section.
• Fill out detailed special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, NBs, etc. and ensure that all co-workers are informed.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 week

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

• Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
