Position Title: Flight Attendant
Location: Rankin Inlet, NU
Status: Full Time

Position Summary:
Calm Air Flight Attendants are the forefront of the company, creating an outstanding experience for every guest. At Calm Air, Flight Attendants are entrusted with the safety and security of our guests, crew members and aircraft in accordance with Transport Canada and Air Operator’s standards.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and security of all passengers
  • Deliver friendly and attentive service for passenger comfort
  • Ensure the pre-flight safety equipment checks are completed
  • Participate in crew briefings
  • Maintain communication with the captain regarding any circumstance which may adversely affect the conduct of the flight, aircraft, passengers, or fellow crew members
  • Maintain, submit, and distribute paperwork that may be required to properly document the flight; including but not limited to bar receipts, cash, operations reports, commissary reports, flight manifests, and company mail
  • Perform, to the best of their ability, their duties in accordance with established policy and procedure and in the best interests of safety, efficiency, and economy of operation
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities in a manner that is safe and in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of the Flight Attendant Academy or the In-flight Instruction online Training Program-CT201 prior to employment
  • Must successfully complete a 6-week fulltime training program
  • Legal age required to serve alcohol in Manitoba and Nunavut
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and possesses high attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a crew
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must hold a current and valid Canadian or International passport
  • Problem solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations
  • Previous experience in aviation considered an asset
  • Must be able to reach the airport within 90 minutes of callout
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC), which will require an original birth certificate and a valid government issued identification
  • Preference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
  • Inuktitut language considered an asset

Preferred consideration is given to candidates who possess or are pursuing a certificate. Inflight Institute students will be considered prior to any other applicants.
