Gemologist Job at Canada Gold
Canada Gold is a national precious metals recycling company looking to hire a full-time Gemologist in Edmonton to work from our Edmonton office and from home. We also sell one of a kind preowned jewellery online through our sister company 100ways.com.
We are seeking a candidate who is personable, friendly, and exhibits excellent customer service while identifying the characteristics of various gemstones.
Key responsibilities:
- Work in office at our Edmonton location to purchase gold and precious gemstones.
- Assist customers with other types of transactions, like buying or selling bullion.
- Create grading cards for diamonds and gemstones that will be sold online.
- Photograph and post fine jewellery online on our Shopify store.
A portion of this role of this role will be client-facing, so amazing customer service is a priority.
An Example Work Week:
Monday and Tuesday - work in office helping customers by appointment and who drop in to sell their precious metals and gemstones.
Wednesday to Friday - work from home grading and posting items for online sales.
Qualifications:
- A Graduate Gemologist degree, or a GIA accredited Gemologist. Must be able to grade both diamonds, and coloured stones.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- 1-3+ years of previous experience in the jewellery industry.
We are presently looking for a candidate available to work 4-5 days per week. One core day would be on Mondays in office.
