Job Responsibilities

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Works from drawings and written instructions to create parts.
• Performs a wide variety of duties to set up and operate manual machines such as :
• Cylindrical Grinders
• Honing Machines
• Manual Lathe
• Manual Mills
• Surface Grinders

Work Conditions

• Ability to stand for a lengthy period
• Ability to physically lift up to 50lbs

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ Licensed machinist.
• Must be able to measure and maintain tolerances up to .0002 /.0005
• Inspects work pieces at beginning of and throughout production run to insure part meets tolerance requirements
• Requires basic knowledge of various metal and of measurements used in machining processes in order to provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced machinist.
• Knowledge of mechanical instruments, calibration techniques and requirements.
• Possesses basic math and problem solving abilities.
• Reads prints to recognize specifications for various surfaces being machined.
• Works from prints and determine operational sequences; select tools, spindle speeds, tool feed rates and chucking/holding requirements in accordance with materials.
• Inspects and understands when to replace cutting tools.
• Proficient in GD&T and the practical application of GD&T
• Understands and verifies tolerances for machined surfaces.
• Detects worn tools and replaces tooling as appropriate.
• Trouble shooting and problem solving every day activities
• Maintain a safe working and good housekeeping practices
• Works effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Flexibility and Communication skills are very important
• Works well in a team as well as independently

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$60.00 per hour
