Who are we looking for?

Modern PURAIR South Okanagan location is looking for an A-player who is extremely motivated to take on the position of General Manager, based in Penticton, BC. Our territory includes Penticton, Osoyoos, Oliver, Naramata and Summerland (South Okanagan). This is a unique opportunity for a motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to continue to build and lead an already successful business. You must have a sense of humour and impeccable time management skills that will filter down to technicians. You are community orientated and will encourage the rest of the team to be as well; giving back to the community in opportunities that present themselves. You will oversee the daily operations of the business and manage the team. You will be in charge of hiring new technicians and overseeing their training, done by our lead technician. Local business development is a large part of your role and you must have a hunger to chase and close new business through multiple marketing strategies including multi-media efforts, cold calls and warm lead follow-ups. In this role, you will focus on pipeline and lead management and other duties which will have a direct impact on customer acquisitions and market penetration. You will also focus on being responsible for margin management and the operations’ overall profitability.

Key Duties:

  • Overseeing daily business operations
  • Developing and implementing growth strategies
  • Training Operations Managers, Office Managers, Business Development and other lower-level managers
  • Coaching and mentoring all staff
  • Improving revenue and profit margins; decreasing expenses by 5%
  • Hiring employees, building a technician team and culture
  • Evaluating the performance and productivity of team members
  • Researching and identifying growth opportunities
  • Invoicing, cash management, bank deposits and managing A/Rs
  • Case manager - Operations Managers are the first line of Case Managers now and the General Manager will have urgent cases (problems) escalated to them.
  • New business development including quoting, bidding and estimating
  • Strategy - 90-day planning with Franchise owner to establish OKRs
  • Planning and implementing new marketing initiatives
  • Identifying new business opportunities and new prospects; contacting those prospects to establish rapport, arranging meetings and presenting product offerings
  • Working with the Owner, the franchisor and an assigned business coach to formulate operational strategies, determine key performance indicators to benchmark to and milestones to achieve
  • Communicating results with the Owner

Qualifications and Skills:

  • People Person - confident and friendly, who can establish and maintain solid relationships
  • Quick thinker, faster learner, and a problem solver
  • High tolerance for rejection and fear of the unknown
  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Management or Marketing preferred
  • Seasoned sales professional with experience growing a product or professional services book of business
  • Commercial accounts experience in services such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, building management, construction, real estate or other commercial account services would be an asset
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in a sales/general manager position
  • Strong numerical ability with calculations and analysis of targets and goals
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and a positive and outgoing attitude
  • Experience with coaching and training a team is a plus!

Position Type: Permanent/ Full time

Hours of work: 40 hours/ week

Travel: only within the region

Compensation:

  • $60,000 annually plus bonuses based on KPIs and Business Development
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation
  • Eligible for benefits after 3 months.
  • Car and cell phone allowance.
