Geophysical Technician Job at Frequency Geophysics Inc.
We are looking for people to perform field surveys for a variety of geophysical surveys.
The work involves taking measurements and collecting data at pre-determined positions using specialized equipment. The work will take place in the Greater Sudbury Area as well as the occasional remote survey project. The field survey technician will report to the team leader.
Your responsibilities will be:
· Travel daily to and from work sites.
· Collect data using geophysical receivers.
· Take GPS positions of station locations.
· Working safely under all health and safety regulations.
· Laying out geophysical “loop” wire.
· Flagging trails through the bush, using compass/GPS unit.
- Some lab testing of equipment
- Some general shop labour
Requirements are as follows:
- Quick learning capabilities
- Capability to work long hours (10+ daily)
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability to work outdoors
- Experience using GPS technologies is considered as an asset
- Experience working in the field/bush is an asset.
A competitive wage will be offered based on training/experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
Experience:
- geotechnical: 2 years (preferred)
- field work: 2 years (preferred)
Language:
- English (required)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Ontario Driver's license (required)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
