HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

JOB SUMMARY:
APS is looking for a dedicated and personable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their team in Inuvik, NT. The successful applicant must have fuel truck and trailer experience as well as experience in other forms of
Heavy Equipment repair. We offer competitive wages, great benefits and flights.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repair equipment and machinery;
- Diagnose equipment problems and determine repairs;
- Demonstrate continuous effort, work safely and efficiently;
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks;
- Repair, overhaul, maintain and service tandem nd heavy fuel trucks;
- Maintain applicable documentation as required;
- On occasion, travel via Ice Road in company provided truck & sometimes small aircraft;
- Other tank farm maintenance work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years experience; Journeyman certification, Red Seal preferred;
- Experience working with highway trucks and trailers required;
- Class 1 Driver’s License;
- Safety Certifications preferred (WHMIS, TDG, Standard First Aid)
- Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit;
- Work outdoors when required in all types of weather conditions;
- Basic computer skills including email;
- Work well with others and independently, reliable, punctual, willing to learn new things.
