This Opportunity

We are currently looking to fill a Part Time, permanent housekeeping role in our North East region – Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.

Duties include the following:

  • Assist consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living: light housekeeping (dusting, sweep, mop, vacuum, make bed, dishes, etc.); and laundry activities (sort, wash, dry, and fold).
  • Provide housekeeping service in a friendly, courteous, professional and safe manner, which respects the consumer’s dignity and right to privacy, while ensuring consumer and staff safety.
  • Manage and respond to change in a positive manner.
  • Work safe according to WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) laws, regulations, MODC policies and procedures.

The Home Support Worker will be required to work shifts up to 29.5 hours a week that may vary between locations.

Background / Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Valid G-Class driver’s license
  • Reliable vehicle with current car insurance
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working with older adults, adults with age related health conditions, and/or disabilities.
  • Valid CPIC-vulnerable person check (obtained less than 6 months from date of application).
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by receiving all required doses of a vaccine approved by Health Canada at least 14 days prior to the start of employment
  • Knowledge and abilities in housekeeping duties
  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physical Demands Self Analysis required upon hire
