The Opportunity
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor will support with a wide range of HR functions and services, including acting as an HR Business Partner support, and administrative support to the Drummondville manufacturing facility. Tasks include, facilitating employee onboarding & orientation, maintaining personal/employment records, employee relations, recruitment strategy and general HR business support. This individual will work in a team environment to enhance the organization’s human resources delivery with a focus on open communication and providing positive solutions to difficult problems facing the business as it continues to grow. The incumbent must demonstrate exceptional writing and oral communication in both French and English.
In this role you will:

  • Be a key driver in executing the business strategy, implement human resources programs supporting business initiatives
  • Educate leaders on total compensation and proactive management of the compensation cycle, as well as managing ongoing compensation issues
  • Mentoring junior HR Administrator/Coordinator
  • Be a champion of change and provide change management support to the business
  • Providing expertise, guidance and coaching to leaders in managing highly sensitive and complex employee relations matters (performance improvement, terminations, etc.)
  • Perform general recruitment functions
  • Create and present Letters of Offer/ New Hire documents (on-boarding package) to successful candidate, perform employee orientations on their first day of employment.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, including enter new hire information into Human Resource Systems (Payroll/ Success Factors)
  • Process incoming mail, scan and forward to appropriate internal parties
  • Coordinate local functions including holiday celebrations, luncheons, etc.
  • Provide clerical support to Plant Manager
  • Maintain office equipment supplies
  • Cooperate with their employer for the purposes of protecting the health and safety of themselves as well as other workers either engaged or at the work site where the work is being carried out.
  • Other duties as required

We would love to hear from you if:

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources/Business or equivalent combination education and experience is preferred
  • Flexible work schedule 1-2 days from home
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a recruitment and/or HR related role
  • Broad understanding of HR processes (Recruiting, Talent Management, Compensation, Pension and Benefits, HRIS, Employee Relations), excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (particularly written)
  • Exceptional oral and written skills in both French and English are required
  • Positive, “can-do” attitude providing an ability to deal with challenging situations
  • Computer literate including good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point,)
  • Good working knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Team player and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under the pressure of meeting deadlines
  • Ability to treat all information with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
