Applications are invited for the full-time position of Indigenous Mental Health Therapist with Livingstone Range School Division. The position is available January 9, 2023 with a start date determined through consultation with the successful candidate. This position will end December, 2024.

Livingstone Range School Division is located in the southwestern corner of Alberta encompassing fourteen schools in the communities of Nanton, Stavely, Claresholm, Granum, Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, Lundbreck and Crowsnest Pass. Within the Division, there are also thirteen Hutterite Schools and one Virtual School.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an Indigenous Mental Health Therapist, you will use a variety of intervention modalities (e.g., individual, family, group) to support Indigenous students experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working independently and as a member of school and division teams, you will provide culturally appropriate and evidence informed practices in crisis intervention, assessment, referral, and intervention. You may also support consultation and professional development activities within the division. The successful candidate will commit to the Division’s vision of Every Student, Every Day through inclusive, collaborative, and relationship-focused activities with students, families, and division staff.

· Days Off: Saturday/Sunday

· Minimum Salary: $36.00

· Maximum Salary: $53.50

· Vehicle Requirement: Driver's License, Vehicle Required

REQUIREMENTS:

Completion of a master’s degree in Psychology or master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) with active registration with the applicable regulatory college preferred. Provisional Registered Psychologists must come with an external supervisor with a background in Clinical Child Psychology. Consideration will be given to individuals with undergraduate degrees and experience in relevant disciplines (e.g., Child and Youth Care, Addictions Counselling). Training and professional experience with complex children, adolescents, and families and in mental health interventions are required.
