Position: Firefighter - Aviation

Pay Rate: Starting at $21.00/hr. (once fully qualified through training, wage increases)

Type: This is a contract position until Dec 2023.

Site: This position requires you to work as a Security Guard 90% of time, so this is a dual role. The site is unique in providing Firefighting candidates with opportunities to work on a firefighting team. This team specializes in Aviation fires and emergency situations. You will have the opportunity to respond to real fire/emergency situations giving you the experience you need to move into Municipal firefighting. You will respond to all medical emergencies on site. You shall be comfortable with radio communication. You will also have an opportunity to drive a fire truck as well. Firefighters need to be always highly alert and vigilant. We have a proven track record to accelerate our Firefighters into positions for careers as a Municipal or Aviation Firefighter.

Specific qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License or be willing to obtain it.
• NFPA 1003 valid certification is considered an asset.
• NFPA 1001 Level I & II valid certification.
• NFPA 472/1072 valid certification.
• Must hold a valid Emergency Medical Responder with CPR level “C” certificate.
• Must possess a valid Ontario unrestricted Class “D” driver’s license with “Z” air brake endorsement dated prior to time of hire.
• Must be able to work flexible shift work and work 12-hour shifts (emergency services schedule)
