We are currently recruiting for a full-time Instrument Technician based out of our Swan Hills/Whitecourt area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience and currently resides in the Swan Hills/Whitecourt area or within 100km of the facilities or be willing to move.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and troubleshoot instrumentation and control equipment on new or existing oil and gas process equipment and processes
  • Inspect and test instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments
  • Install process control instrumentation including transmitters, controllers, analyzers and control valves
  • Manage the maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and installation of Electric Heat Trace (EHT) and Heat Trace Controllers
  • Day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting and repair and process control equipment, heat trace, electric actuated valves and other associated equipment
  • DCS programming and troubleshooting (PLC), control software and human-machine interface systems
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and completion of test and maintenance reports
  • Ensure activities are in compliance with all company and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five year’s experience as a qualified Instrumentation Tradesperson in an energy or heavy industrial environment
  • Knowledge and experience troubleshooting the following equipment and systems: Allen Bradley, Flo boss, SCADA Pack RTUs as well as utilizing multimeters, Loop calibrators, and other related test equipment
  • Industrial Network experience (Device Net, DH+, Ethernet, and Modbus)
  • Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal regulations/codes
  • Possess a high degree of initiative, creativity, communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety requirements
  • Provide 24-hour on-call support on a rotating basis
