BC Cancer is one of the world's renowned cancer organizations. BC Cancer Kelowna operates a satellite clinic in Kamloops. We are looking for a Medical Oncologist to join our well established team of 3 Medical Oncologists. This clinic offers cutting edge therapy in a personalized practice environment. Additionally the Kamloops clinic has support from general practitioners specially trained in oncology and chemotherapy delivery. As part of BC Cancer and IHA, medical staff

have provincial tumour group support and tumour board conferences are available for

case discussions. In the near future, clinical trials enrollment will be supported at the

Kamloops site, increasing research and care opportunities. The local medical community offers tertiary level care across specialties, affiliation with the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus and the UBC Faculty of Medicine training program.


The Thompson Region boasts spectacular beauty and agricultural abundance, with a variety of recreational options, offering the opportunity to ski, play a round of golf, ride horseback and visit a winery all in one day. Surrounded by majestic mountains and refreshing waters, every season holds promise, with activities such as hiking, biking and boating in summer, to skiing, boarding and snowmobiling in winter. The 2,000+ hours of sunshine each year will help you enjoy the Southern Interior even more.


As a specialist, the full spectrum of practice is available for suitable candidates to tailor to their interest. You will use your experience and qualifications to provide expert medical oncology care for our patients. Areas of tumour site participation will be defined by Centre need, with an effort to accommodate candidate interests as well. There are exciting opportunities for engagement in our expanding research and education programs.


You have obtained or are working towards Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, along with a certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology. You must also be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of BC Cancer. You must be eligible for a valid license to practice medicine in Canada to apply.


Successful candidates will have:

Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).


As per the current Public Health Order, full vaccination against COVID-19 is a condition of employment with PHSA as of October 26, 2021.
