Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the IT Specialist is responsible for the overall general maintenance of all Eclipse computer equipment and for the process of resolving identified technical problems that may exist within the company. The incumbent is also responsible for resolving or escalating Eclipse employee incidents throughout their lifecycle from submission/detection to fulfillment/resolution in a fast paced and busy environment, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

The IT Specialist job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Technical
  • Technical triaging, providing status updates and communications to management and end-users and acting as the IT Single-Point-of-Contact for customers to ensure they maintain maximum productivity. Process emails, calls and interact directly with in-person walk-up requests.
  • Install, configure and maintain the following devices: notebooks/tablets/desktop, cellular devices, desk phones, printers, photocopier/scanning machines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a broad range of IT activities as well as the ability to collect and organize information on a daily basis.
  • Maintain an inventory of installed software, hardware and licensing.
  • Assist with the administration of user email accounts and manage access control, based on company policies.
  • Assist with the implementation of various hardware and software upgrades including equipment refresh and application version upgrades, windows updates and patches as required
  • Ability to apply resourcefulness, research and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues
  • Superior time management and multitasking skills are needed to succeed in the fast paced and busy environment.
  • Previous experience with a support ticket tracking system preferred
  • Proven ability to follow policies / procedures, fulfill project initiatives, manage tasks of both self as well as others and provide reporting as required.

  • Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures
  • Compete other duties and projects as assigned
  • Must be self-motivated and lead by example with a positive attitude and outlook
  • Ensure business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code
  • Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy
  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met
  • Maintain a good corporate Citizen role in support of Eclipse Corporate Vision
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures
  • Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
  • Expectation of travel is less than 5% of time; however, this may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs
Qualifications:
  • University/College Degree in Computer Science of a related program
  • Knowledge of computer and laptop hardware components and experience
  • Previous technical customer service experience troubleshooting and patching Microsoft Windows products (Windows and Office)
  • Experience with Active Directory and Exchange administration
  • Experience accessing and managing Edge network
