Who are we looking for?

Siskinds is growing and we are currently seeking an IT Systems Analyst. This position will
require you to assist with the day-to-day management of our hybrid IT infrastructure
environment which includes our on-premise, cloud, network and server environments.
Responsibilities will include a high degree of involvement in all server and network
provisioning, management, and monitoring of our existing infrastructure, all software and
endpoint hardware deployments, cloud provisioning, and management of our existing
endpoints. To perform these roles, the candidate will also have responsibility to manage
and coordinate the vendor relationships covering various cybersecurity services, network
design and implementation. This role will require you to work regularly after-hours or
extended hours on weekdays and weekends as needed for projects and upgrades,
preventative maintenance, problem resolution and break-fixes.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma/certificate/degree in a related computer studies area
  • 3 to 5+ years’ relevant technical experience (preferably in a professional services
environment)
  • 3 to 5+ years’ Hypervisor administration experience (preferably VMware vSphere)
  • Certification in VMWare Professional
  • Advanced Windows Server and Active Directory Administration skills
  • Competency in supporting Azure, AWS, IBM or similar cloud computing environments
(Azure certification preferred)
  • Experience and comfort in using client management technologies such as Intune,

SCCM/MECM, Group Policy and/or other similar technologies.

  • Direct experience with managing endpoint and mobile devices with Microsoft Intune and
defining Conditional Access policies
  • Experience with Veeam software for backup, replications to support DR requirements is
preferred
  • One or more current MCSA (or higher) MCP Certifications is preferred.
  • Prior experience participating in or leading mass deployments of hardware and software
  • IT Service Management (ITIL) knowledge (preferable ITIL certified)
  • Project Management experience with competency in planning and coordination of

delivering enterprise solutions through engagement with internal and external
stakeholders and vendors

  • Experience with process mapping and design analysis with a talent in identifying
technical efficiencies and proposing solutions to management
  • Experience managing endpoint security, anti-virus, malware prevention and detection
tools
  • Adherence to professional codes of conduct that are exemplified in the Canadian
Information Processing Society (CIPS) and the Association for Computing Machinery
(ACM) with respect to ethical, social, environmental, health, safety and cultural issues
  • A thorough understanding of Layer 2 and 3 networking protocols (including WAN
technologies) and at least 3 years’ practical experience with network design and
administration
  • Desired Cisco Certified Network Professional and/or CompTIA+, Security+
  • Desired CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Data Center


Responsibilities:

  • Support Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI), software defined storage
  • Deploy and manage cloud – public & private - compute, storage and network resources
  • Active Directory Administration – management of objects and policies, identities,
authentications, integrations, and synchronization to Azure via AD Connect
  • Microsoft 365 Administration – Office 365 / Enterprise Mobility & Security / Azure AD

  • Azure Administration – deployment and management of compute and storage resources
  • Ensure the availability of data through back-up, recovery and disaster recovery solutions
are met
  • Maintain, support, and administer all infrastructure hardware and networking
components for the entire VMware vSphere virtualization platform
  • Ensure production changes follow compliance standards and conformance practice
standards that align with ITIL
  • Possess a breadth of knowledge in Computer Science and understanding of the

application domain in order to communicate effectively with professionals from that
domain

  • Analyze network health of both practical and theoretic nature and remediate any issues
impacting performance
  • Ensure network is scalable and optimized for performance to support future growth
requirements
  • Design, configure, deploy and support Wireless technology Wi-Fi 6/6E
  • Design, configure, deploy and support network core and edge infrastructure
  • Review and maintain housekeeping standards for data center and network closet

environments

  • Navigate technical support needs with various vendors
  • Investigate new technologies, tools, practices and standards to stay abreast in
profession and contribute to the continuous improvement of the network infrastructure
  • Software deployment – operating system and application deployment, patch
management
  • Automate processes such as routine tasks to optimize operational efficiency
  • Actively engage our end-users in third-level support issues by debugging problems that
occur with hardware, software and network services
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis on major incidents, coordinate and execute follow-up
actions through Change Advisory Board
  • Support network and data center governance and best practice mandates
  • Participate in ongoing cybersecurity assessment and remediation activities to identify
and minimize risk and exposure levels
  • Define and document operational and troubleshooting procedures
  • Define and document architectural design
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation
  • Lead a Disaster Recovery Plan creation and implementation and participate in creation
and execution of an Incidence Response Plan
  • Other duties as assigned
