We are looking for people willing to learn and committed to maintaining safe and clean facilities for our County Councillors, staff and members of the Public. The Janitor provides custodian/janitorial services for all County buildings: Community Services Building (admin only), Public Works/IT Building, Public Works Shop, Main Administration Building, FCSS Building, the Wellington Resource Center and Beaverlodge and Hythe buildings.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Education (or equivalent)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
  • Reliable transportation
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check
  • Previous experience as a custodian or caretaker (asset)
  • Ability to interact well with and respond to notifications and service requests
  • Close attention to detail
  • Initiative and time management skills required to organize your own work
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks within established facility standard
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge
  • Responsible to ensure building security and customer safety

Successful applicants must have proven initiative, ability to work independently, be able to problem-solve and possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and the general public.

This job is 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Hours may change and/or need to be flexible including some evenings and weekends.
