Rolmaster Conveyors, a Canadian manufacturing company, requires a Permanent Full Time Junior Mechanical Designer for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

Salary, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday Flex Hours - 7:30 am to 5:00 pm). Location is on bus route.

Employees must have mechanical aptitude and must be located in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 3D Modeling of components and assemblies
  • Processing standard orders
  • Reviewing request from both Sales and the customer for modifications to standard designs
  • Requisitioning of material
  • Completion of engineering calculations
  • Preparation of fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
  • Issuing drawings to the shop for fabrication in accordance with the production schedule
  • Revising drawings as required
  • Following company standards, policies and procedures

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Engineering Technician / Technologist or equivalent
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and welding
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design
  • Proficient in SolidWorks 2020 or newer
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Excellent detailing skills
  • Good problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or on a project team
  • Will be required to spend time on the shop floor through a training program designed to get some hands-on experience on all aspects of fabrication

Nice to Have:

  • Mechanical Design experience in the Material Handling Industry
  • Experience with DriveWorks project development
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM 2020 or newer

Salary: $45,000.00 to $ 50,000.00 per year (based on experience and abilities)
