Core Lab at DynaLIFE consists of distinct testing areas for Chemistry, Hematology and Urinalysis. In our Core Lab department you will experience a high volume, well organized, efficient environment with strict quality control guidelines in place. The department relies heavily on team work to meet operational requirements.


Major Functions and Responsibilities

  • Receive/prepare/sort specimens for testing. As well as load/unload and maintain front end automation
  • General cleaning and housekeeping duties; including washing of lab glassware/racks
  • Restocking of supplies; making/preparing reagents
  • Receiving/unpacking/ordering of lab reagents/supplies; ability to lift 25 lbs is required
  • Perform fridge/freezer/centrifuge maintenance function
  • Assist in training new staff

  • Keyboarding skills and basic computer knowledge

Required Experience
  • Experience within the past 6 months working as a Laboratory Assistant I in Chemistry in Core Lab, DSC is required
  • Experience preparing specimens for loading on instrumentation, performing fridge/freezer/centrifuge maintenance, thermometer and pipette verifications, counting/receiving inventory
  • Experience in a high volume lab, working with Roche CCM Front End Automation
  • Millennium LIS experience an asset

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
  • Strong team player with the ability to perform duties independently and in a team environment
  • Must be thorough, accurate and detail oriented

  • As workload demands and operational requirements shift, location, dates and/or hours of work may be changed
