Summary of Position

To support leading linen management practices and customer experience, Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service is currently seeking a Permanent, full-time long term care Linen Porter for one of our Ontario customers. The position supports long term care homes in the Oakville, Milton, and Burlington.

Duties and Responsibilities

In support of effective on-site linen management, and to enable a safe, comfortable patient care environment, the Long-Term Care Linen Porter will be responsible for the following key duties:

Specific Scope of Services

· Shifts: Monday through Friday afternoon/evening 12:00PM – 8:00PM EST.

· Receive and deliver clean linen carts to pre-identified areas for three long term care facilities.

· Ensure neat and tidy combining of linens and staging of extra in linen room.

· Leadership of Return Linen Bag placement, exchange and return to the Ecotex Plant for processing.

· Staging of empty linen carts in designated waste management or soiled linen areas as required.

· Communication with Ecotex Account Manager and client site from time to time with respect to required linen adjustments or operational considerations.

· Must treat all staff, patients and visitors with courtesy, dignity and respect.

Required Skills and Knowledge

· Working knowledge of hospital linen services would be an asset.

· Minimum of grade twelve (12) or equivalent.

· Ability to push and pull 100lbs.

· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal required.

· Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

· Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and the ability to work alone or as a part of a team.

· Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.

· Ability to exercise good judgement and sensitivity in dealing with hospital information.

· Ability to prioritize and successfully resolve issues with high sense of urgency and customer experience focus.

· Strong attention to detail and follow through.

· Reliable transportation and ability to travel between two sites in close proximity.
