POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Vacuum Former Operator is responsible to perform all setups, operation,
troubleshooting, and adjustments that are required to produce product to customer
specifications. Expected to meet or exceed productivity targets while adhering to quality and safety standards. Able to do all secondary operations and off line operations for Industrial Products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Achieve objectives in a safe manner and according to Hematite policies, procedures, and work instructions.
 Participate in continuous improvement activities and maintaining 5S standards
 Organizes, coordinates and develops production set ups and samples to run at
quoted rates. Meets customer requirements.
 Able to start up and shut down the machine, complete machine setups, and perform
all simple and/or preventative maintenance procedures as required. Performs
lockout procedures in accordance with safety protocols.
 Responsible for operating the Vacuum Former(s), which includes the insertion,
removal and finish of materials or parts, and utilizing the Plex Control Panel.
Expected to meet or exceed productivity targets during operation.
 Diagnoses problems and develops, applies or suggests corrective action to minimize
the amount of non-productive machine time. Demonstrates efficient setups;
Performs machine adjustments as needed. (e.g. set up and remove, adjust frames,
cycle times, temperatures, upper and lower platen change)
 Follows prescribed SOP’s, completes all required production reports and Q. A.
reports accurately.
 Sorts and packs products or parts in an orderly fashion and to specifications.
 Works within all safety rules and wears required safety equipment.
 Should be able to do all secondary operations and off line operations for Industrial
products.
 Participate in cycle counting and physical inventory as required.
 Other duties as required. May assist with production work if time permits, as
directed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
 None

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
 Should be mechanically inclined. Comfortable to operate small hand tools and
simple fabrication tasks.
 Able to read and write English, and communicate effectively with all inside and
outside contacts.
 May require heavy lifting and handling
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 Grade 12 education or equivalent; good mathematical skills.
 Ability to understand, read, and write English accurately in order to follow verbal
and written instructions, prepare necessary paperwork, and communicate with
other team members.
 Able to read production drawings and use measuring instruments.
 Successfully complete the written and practical tests as required
