Maintenance Associate
The Retro Suites Hotel is seeking to hire a Maintenance Associate to join our team. This fast-paced, team-oriented environment provides many opportunities to gain skills and knowledge that will help the successful candidate progress throughout their career. The selected candidate must be polite/professional, have pride in workmanship, attention to detail, common sense, and the ability to work well alone and with a team. Hospitality experience and education an asset but not required.
This position is FULL TIME.
Competitive industry wage/salary.
DPSP Investment Program after three months.
The successful candidate will be asked to complete responsibilities such as but not limited to:
- Janitorial duties; garbage removal, moping, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, changing lights
- Maintain outdoor spaces; watering plants, trimming weeds, sweeping/blowing, leaves, snow, salt etc.
- Grease and graffiti cleanup on outdoor spaces
- Window cleaning
- Small drywall patches
- Paint and stain
- Carpet cleaning
The candidate is required to work safely and comfortably with:
- Ladders/Scaffold
- Heights
- Confined Spaces
- Rooftops
- Heavy Lifting
- Hand Tools/Power Tools
- Lockout/Tagout
- WHMIS Chemicals
- Biohazardous Waste
The candidate should be proficient in the following:
- Can follow simple and precise instructions
- Can work alone or with a team
- Completes projects on time
- Problem Solving
- Communication Skills
- Time Management
