The role of the Maintenance Supervisor will plan, direct, organize, control and effectively coordinate maintenance activities daily to provide quality service. Evaluates operational efficiency of facilities and equipment. Supports the planning and execution of new facility design, infrastructure, construction, expansion and site security. Oversees the care of all grounds and support equipment. Supervise external maintenance contractors as required. Primary contact at facility for execution of modifications to infrastructure (building and building services (HVAC, compressed air) and production equipment. Manage maintenance crew to ensure adherence to safety and housekeeping practices.
What you will be doing:
Maintenance
  • Distribute tasks and activities equally among the members of the team.
  • Coordinate and meet established targets for cost, waste, overtime, line departure, performance, product specification sheet and quality standards and make the necessary changes to achieve those targets.
  • Lead employees and / or contractors in the repair, maintenance and installation of equipment.
  • Document the planning schedule with the work done and the time spent on each task;
  • Ensure the application of the program of preventive maintenance and corrective of the equipment.
  • Maintain a culture of service to respond quickly to the needs of operations and organization.
  • Management of unionized work team in accordance with the collective agreement, internal policies and laws in force.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and provide recommendations for capital investments of equipment modification and/or upgrades to maximize operational efficiencies;
  • Leads the execution of site engineering, packaging and maintenance initiatives through effective project management.
  • Analyze errors to find the main cause and propose improvements, eliminate for recurrence and increase reliability;
  • Establishes preventative maintenance plans and procedures.
HACCP and ISO
  • Ensure the monitoring of work procedures and the quality of work of each member of my team.
  • Document requests for interventions to ensure follow-up on the work to be done;
  • Review internal and external audits for maintenance.
Health and safety
  • Ensure that all members of maintenance team have been properly trained to perform their work safely.
  • Manage and investigate work-related accidents when they occur. Make appropriate reports and follow up with the health and safety committee.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and ensure that work methods are effective.
  • Responsible for the reception of maintenance subcontractors and ensure that the health and safety rules are respected.
  • Manage maintenance and life cycle of all assets.
Meeting
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with employees and other business sectors.
  • Work in collaboration with the cellar and operations team to ensure production and efficiency.
  • Directs employees and/or contractors in equipment repairs, maintenance and equipment installations.
  • Supports health & safety programs and initiatives that promote a safe workplace.
What you will bring:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering preferred
  • 3-5 years in food/beverage industry and/or packaging
  • 3-5 years in people management
  • 3-5 years in mechanical, electrical, welding, refrigeration, boiler, site service, structural and civil engineering systems and controls;
  • Ability to mobilize team and leadership
  • Ability to mobilize and solve problems

  • Critical and analytical sense
  • Advanced knowledge of project management
  • Advanced knowledge of health & safety regulations and principles
  • Advanced skill set in mechanical
  • Intermediate electrical and control systems.
  • Intermediate skill in AutoCAD, or SolidWorks
  • Basic understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles
