Who we are:

We are Accident Support Services International. We are a privately owned company that works in partnership with Police Services across Ontario and Alberta to provide collision reporting solutions for non-injury collisions.

The Opportunity:

As Manager of our North York Collision Reporting Centre, you will be a part of the most important part of our business, the front line. You will be managing one of our busiest locations, including up to 25 Customer Service Representatives. Also, you will be responsible for preparing collision reports, photographing damaged vehicles, & assisting drivers in the initial stages of reporting their collision to their Insurer.

As Manager, your main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the daily operations of the centre, including quality control, record keeping, facility management, impound/cash management and meeting performance targets/and company objectives;
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and scheduling of all employees;
  • Responsible for the performance management of employees including all communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, training, disciplinary action, and employee reviews;
  • Ensuring procedures are being followed (including but not limited to dress code, phone usage, productivity, and punctuality);
  • Reporting monthly in writing to your manager, implementing productivity, quality and customer-services standards, complete audits, and assisting and reporting labour budgets.
  • Greet visitors, determine their needs and direct them accordingly through the reporting process;
  • Communicate the reporting process with clients and explain the necessary information required to proceed;
  • Respond to telephone inquiries or forward callers to the appropriate person or authority;
  • Evaluate whether a collision meets the eligibility requirements to be reported at the collision reporting centre (CRC);
  • Verify driver documents (licence, ownership, and insurance);
  • Interview drivers to determine collision details and assist them in the initial stages of reporting to Insurance;
  • Data enter information using custom software in order to produce collision reports for Police, Insurance and the Ministry of Transportation;
  • Ensure that collision reports are completed in compliance with company policies and procedures. This includes ensuring the PIPEDA statement is signed off correctly for all self-reports;
  • Photograph vehicle damage and upload images into collision report; to be done outdoors, in all weather conditions;
  • Properly use the equipment and technology provided to complete the data entry, scanning and uploading of documents and photos and meets the expectation for speed and accuracy; and
  • Organize and co-ordinate workflow between CRC and Police personnel.

You would be a great fit if you have the following (minimum requirements):

  • At least 5+ years of people and management experience, including hiring and scheduling, and possessing a strong customer service background;
  • Able to undergo and pass additional background testing; complete criminal background check;
  • A good understanding of the rules of the road, a valid G2 or G licence and own vehicle for transportation;
  • A high level of emotional intelligence, and an empathetic demeanour;
  • Patience and the ability to stay calm and even-keeled while adapting to a variety of situations in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong leadership skills, Attention to detail, organization skills and superior time management skills;
  • Experience in entering, analyzing and reporting data;
  • Excellent keyboarding, and general computer skills; and
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, proactively solve problems and possess a strong work ethic.
