Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Manager, Scheduling Services who will be responsible for developing and implementing all Interpreting Services strategies and initiatives and delivering on annual objectives and targets that support CHS’ overall strategic goals.


Core programs within this portfolio include:
  • Scheduled and Emergency Interpreting Services (ASL and LSQ)
  • Video Remote Interpreting
  • Conference/Management Interpreting Services
  • CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) and Translation Services
Success will be driven by creating solid delivery models, cohesive resource teams, and nurturing meaningful provincial and national relationships across multiple stakeholders including government, interpreters, vendors, customers, and consumers.


This will be a full-time permanent position. It will be primarily virtual unless otherwise required to attend in-person meetings from time to time.
Evening and weekend work may also be required.


The ideal candidate has a post-secondary degree in business administration or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, complemented by 2-4 years of management experience running a full-scale department/operation. You are highly proficient (preferably fluent) in American Sign Language (ASL) as well as equally comfortable in writing grants/proposals, business cases, RFPs, and reports for funding agencies.


You have excellent knowledge of Internet/website applications and MS Office Suite combined with proven experience utilizing and troubleshooting scheduling and client management databases.


You will also be someone with a sense of urgency who can handle pressure and can easily manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines due to your proven organizational skills and attention to detail. Working independently as well as part of a team is second nature to you; exposure to unions, collective agreements, and grievance management would be an added plus.
