The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for a MANAGER, Seniors Services

  • This is a regular full-time position (minimum of 35 hours per week) based at 80 Waterloo Ave., Guelph.

Reporting to the Director of Services, the Manager, Seniors Services is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Specialized Geriatric Service (SGS), the Intensive Geriatric Service, Psychogeriatric Resource Consultant and the Guelph Wellington Seniors at Risk Program in a manner that fulfils the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of CMHA WW and complies with provincial and federal legislation and standards. This position has a strong partnership role with the SGS System of care and works in conjunction with key community partners. The focus of the work will be to ensure smooth operations, implement and establish systems that will ensure a quality service, develop and maintain relationships with key community partnerships. Specific functions include, providing effective program monitoring and implementation, handling day-to-day operational issues, program development, managing an interdisciplinary team, providing clinical supervision and consultation, preparing service reports and planning/maintaining the service program budget, as well as contributing to the growth and development of the Seniors Service System across Waterloo Wellington.

The incumbent requires:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Social Work or other health sciences discipline and current registration with legislated regulatory body
  • A minimum of five years’ clinical experience with a minimum of two years in a community setting with specific mental health program experience or five years of experience in a related field
  • Minimum of two years formal supervisory and/or management experience
  • Ability to supervise others, identify and address performance and disciplinary matters in a professional and constructive manner
  • Experience in program administration in the mental health field, knowledge of relevant legislation, support and treatment
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources and supports and ability to network effectively and build partnerships with other service providers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills, positive facilitation skills to lead team meetings, motivate and support staff
  • Time management and organizational skill to effectively manage workload, schedule activities and appointments to meet the demands of the position
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others both within and external to the agency
  • Proficiency with computer applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point), client databases, and statistical submissions
  • Demonstrated understanding of multi-cultural communities and values diversity
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required

COMPENSATION: $48.09 TO $58.42 PER HOUR (Non-Union)
