Medical Transport Driver Job at SkyCare Air Ambulance & Charters
SkyCare Air Ambulance currently has an opening on our team for a full-time Medical Transfer Driver at our Kitchener, ON base. SkyCare is a growing and dynamic Air Ambulance/Air Charter Service headquartered in Sioux Lookout, Ontario that provides exceptional air charter and medevac services across Canada and the United States with a focus on Ontario and Manitoba.
The Medical Transport Driver will work with a partner as part of a two-person team providing transportation for hospital patients, long term care residents and those receiving care in communities throughout Ontario. They are responsible for the condition of the passengers and providing necessary assistance. They perform regular circle checks of the bus, recording its condition and any mechanical problems encountered on route. This position will report to the Medevac Division Manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Glass G License required
- First Aid and Level C CPR Certification required
- Clean and Current Driver’s Abstract required, must not have greater or equal to six (6) demerit points
- Ability to pass Vulnerable Sector Check
- Be able to maintain and timely submit travel logs as required by SkyCare and MOH
- Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Experience and professional attitude while dealing with the public required
- Experience dealing with persons with different abilities an asset.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision, follows the Rules and Regulations
- May be requested to work flexible schedule
- Able to complete continuous education courses as required e.g., WHMIS etc.
