Maintenance (Industrial Millwright)

Fleming Baron (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding our Maintenance Team.


What would you do as our Maintenance (Industrial Millwright)?

In this position, you will help to ensure that all plant equipment is maintained and in good operating condition.


You would also:

  • Be responsible for any required maintenance, repairs, or modifications on all machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantle and assemble complicated machinery to determine cause of trouble and remedies the same.
  • Perform maintenance inspections on all machinery during plant closures.
  • Be responsible for inventory of supplies and requesting supplies required for the operation of the department.
  • Ensure all waste oils, greases, etc. are collected, stored, and maintained.
  • Make replacement parts requiring the operation of lathes, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, bench grinder, band saw.
  • Setup and maintain jigs and welding programs as needed.
  • Ensure that all records of machine repairs and lockouts are maintained and filed.
  • Review and recommend changes to machinery and equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment or machinery.
  • Adjust equipment and align machinery parts.
  • Adjust equipment and rest or calibrate sensors and controls.
  • Ensure that all repairs are done in compliance with legislation. i.e. Building Code, Electrical Code, Pressure Vessels Code
  • Other responsibilities as required.
  • Be responsible for specific departmental safety training and maintain a safe working environment.
  • This position has the authority to stop action on work until concerns are resolved and to initiate and/or participate in identifying and implementing actions to correct existing and prevent future occurrences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Must have an Industrial Millwright or Mechanic Certificate or Industrial Electrician License.
  • At least 3 years as a Maintenance (Industrial Millwright).
  • Strong ability to read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
  • Qualified and/or certified electrical/electronic with metal fabrication experience.
  • Must understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Must have a skill set to be able and understand spot welding.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to pinpoint difficult problems and initiate creative solutions.
  • Possess the ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding or operating principles of machines (brake press, punch press, roll former, shear).
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisor.
  • Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required.
  • Comply with Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Participate and contribute to effective production efficiency.
  • Comply with relevant policies, laws, and regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Manufacturing/industrial environment; some dust and noise
  • Ability to navigate through the manufacturing facility on an occasional basis (155,000 sq ft)
