Job Description:
Join our upcoming 2023 Mercer Turnaround at the Peace River, Alberta pulp mill from May 7th - May 15th.

These temporary Journeyperson and Apprentice Millwright positions will have varying hours dependent on client needs. All candidates are encouraged to apply as LOA is available for this position. Valid WHMIS and Fall Protection are required.

What would you be doing?
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings to ensure precise tolerances
  • Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments
  • Assemble all machinery and equipment by bolting, welding, riveting, or fastening them to pre-built foundations
  • Perform preventative maintenance once the machines and equipment are put into operation
  • Complete all paperwork as required
Does this sound like you?
  • Alberta Certified Millwright Journeyperson, Interprovincial, and Apprentices accepted (proof required)
  • Valid WHMIS and Fall Protection safety tickets required; AWP considered an asset
  • Previous pulp mill experience is an asset
  • Must have your own reliable transportation
  • High regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets, and employees
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines
  • Must have own trade-specific tools - please inquire about our Tool List for clarification
  • Must be clean-shaven and have the ability to do mask work
