Description :
The CIUSSS de l'Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal is currently seeking a full-time evening shift position to join the Active Geriatric Medicine team at the Lakeshore General Hospital.

As a nurse within the Senior's Independence Support Program Branch, your objective will be to ensure the best possible care for a clientele made up of elderly people who, in most cases, have a significant loss of autonomy, both on a functional and cognitive level.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for a range of nursing care based on the bio-psycho-social needs of assigned consumers or groups of individuals;
  • Assess the health status of the user, determine and ensure the implementation of the therapeutic nursing plan, the nursing care and treatment plan;
  • Initiate and provide nursing and medical care and treatment in order to maintain health, restore health and prevent illness;
  • Prescribe laboratory tests, treatments, products, medications, dressings, etc. in the areas of wound care and public health according to current regulations;
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate education to users, their families and groups of people;
  • Participate in research aimed at health promotion and disease prevention.

Requirements :
The desired candidate must:

  • Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a diploma deemed equivalent by the competent authorities;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec;
  • Have the ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with a French and English-speaking clientele;
  • Have a good sense of partnership / teamwork;
  • Have a good leadership skills;
  • Experience with a geriatric clientele and/or experience in hospital care is an asset.
