Description :
The CIUSSS de l'Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal is currently looking for a nurse to fill a full-time evening shift position at the Moe Levin Centre at the Douglas Institute.

The Moe Levin Centre at the IUSMD is composed of a day center, a memory clinic and a care unit for clients diagnosed with dementia. The Moe Levin is a unit that works with clients suffering from major neurocognitive disorders with psychological behavioral symptoms of dementia (BPSD).

The team of nurses is specialized in the management of this clientele by applying ultra-specialized approaches (3rd line).
We work closely with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to find the best combination of approaches that will allow the patient to return to his or her environment with a better quality of life.

The Memory Clinic also welcomes the population suffering from major neurocognitive disorders at the beginning of the diagnosis. The team is composed of a nurse, neuropsychologist, psychiatrist, geriatrician and residents. The team evaluates the cognitive functions of this clientele through multiple psychometric tests.

As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Nurse will:

  • Take charge of new patient charts;
  • Collaborate in the evaluation, diagnosis and follow-up;
  • Assess the cognitive functions of the clientele;
  • Implement resources for patients;
  • Ensure interventions with patients and their families;
  • Ensure the medical follow-up of the residents in collaboration with the psychiatrists and their teams.

Take advantage of a dynamic environment, within an establishment that promotes continuous training!

By joining CIUSSS de l'Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal, you will enjoy a multitude of benefits:

  • Four (4) weeks of vacation after one year of full-time work;
  • Thirteen (13) statutory vacations and 9.6 sick days for a year of full-time work (full-time positions only; fringe benefits are paid to part-time employees);
  • Five (5) additional floating vacations for work in a designated psychiatric setting (prorated to hours worked for part-time employees);
  • Premium for psychiatric clientele;
  • Participation, with the employer, in a defined benefit pension plan ensuring a reliable retirement income;
  • Group insurance protection (life, health, salary);
  • Access, for the employee and his or her family, to a free employee assistance program;
  • Access to ongoing training (formal training, supervision, coaching, etc.);
  • Extensive career development opportunities with the possibility of applying to internally posted positions;
  • A teaching and research environment through Douglas' affiliation with McGill University;
  • Parking available for less than $1 per day;
  • Employee cafeteria.
