The College is seeking a detail-oriented individual to provide general office administration and clerical support to the College.

The College of Psychologists of British Columbia regulates the practice of psychology in the public interest in accordance with the Health Professions Act by setting the standards for competent and ethical practice, promoting excellence, and taking action when standards are not met.

Scope and Complexity

Reporting to the Registrar, and the Operations and Records Manager, the Office Assistant interacts with staff, volunteers, registrants, applicants, and members of the public in relation to the College’s mandate and operations. The Office Assistant is a detail-oriented position, managing multiple tasks at various stages, and providing a first point of contact for enquiries and correspondence with the College. The incumbent works independently and under direction to organize workflow and ensure the delivery of efficient, effective, timely and complete administrative and clerical support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative and clerical assistance to the Registrar and staff as assigned.
  • Database entry and updating of records.
  • Process and distribute incoming mail, faxes, and emails, answer telephone calls.
  • File and retrieve documents and reference materials.
  • Assist with the storage and secure disposition of electronic and physical files.
  • Process accounts payables and receivables.
  • Review and distribute registrant-related mail-outs and electronic newsletters.
  • Prepare miscellaneous reports, including statistical reports.
  • Provide support for special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.

SALARY

Gross wage $25 per hour, minus required payroll deductions

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Temporary part-time position, 20-25 hours per week for 2-3 months, with opportunity to become permanent full-time
  • Hours of work will be scheduled weekdays between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, excluding statutory holidays
  • This position works onsite in the office and is not eligibile to remotely work from home
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while operating a computer, mouse and keyboard is required.
