Atlantic Cultivation is a premium Canadian cannabis cultivator located in St. John’s, NL. We operate a world class, state-of the-art, indoor cannabis production facility where we cultivate cannabis using top feed drip hydroponics in rockwool. Additionally, we’ve obtained 10 Cannabis Retail Licenses from the NLC and currently have 8 stores operating across NL. Those stores are called Atlantic Cannabis.

The Role – Operational Improvement Analyst (OIA)

The OIA reports to the COO and is accountable for performing strategic business analyses for the production departments (cultivation and processing) in support of corporate goals and objectives.

The main functions of the OIA are to observe/analyse business operations and assist with the development of programs that will capture data in an effort to optimize efficiency and productivity of business operations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Observe and analyse the business operations of the production departments. Getting to know the ins and outs of our current operations will be a key aspect of this position.
  • Turn observations into measurable data by creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
  • Flowchart business processes to define operational activities, procedures, and models.
  • Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes and develop strategies for enhancing them.
  • Collaborate with production management and the executive teams to further refine business operations, requirements and goals.
  • Create and/or prototype new procedures to enhance business processes, operations, and data flow.
  • Design, develop, and distribute training for impacted business users, where applicable.
  • Perform data analyses and develop and present ad hoc reports in support of various business initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Highly knowledgeable in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • ASQ certified is a strong asset.
  • A Health Canada Cannabis Industry Security Clearance is preferred. If not already obtained, the successful candidate will be expected to obtain this asap.
  • A diploma/degree in computer science, finance, or business administration is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience modeling and mapping business processes.
  • Direct knowledge of database management and various data retrieval methodologies, including data importing to spreadsheets, graphs, etc.
  • Able to write operational procedures in both technical and user-oriented language.
  • Able to troubleshoot business process changes, errors, and subsequent modifications.
  • Cannabis industry experience as asset

  • Work location is mainly at our head office/production facility in St. John’s, NL
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Must be 19 or older
