Location: Burrlington Outdoor Resource Centre
Salary: $26.87 - $28.18

This position is responsible for working with teachers, developing programs and delivering student field study activities at the Outdoor Resource Centres in compliance with Board policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities:
- To develop, plan, schedule and deliver Outdoor Education programs in collaboration with the Outdoor Education teacher or on his/her own.
- To provide in-service sessions at scheduled events either in partnership with the Outdoor Education teacher or on his/her own.
- To supervise students in seasonal/nature/outdoor based activities.
- To assist in the development and review of “Search & Rescue” and emergency policies and procedures.
- To assist in the purchase, maintenance, storage and inventory control of materials and equipment.
- To prepare and maintain the site for seasonal/nature/outdoor based programs in collaboration with the Outdoor Education teacher.
- To work as an active member of the Outdoor Education team
- To attend professional development/training sessions as required
- To attend meetings as required.
- To perform other duties as assigned.
Line of Responsibility:
Responsible to the Principal responsible for Outdoor Education or designate.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma with three years of post-secondary education in a related discipline is required.
- Minimum one year related experience is required.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR is required.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and current Board approved/implemented software is required.
- Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
