Summary - Our Packaging Machine Operators are responsible for safely operating our vegetable processors, scales, dryers, vertical form fill seal baggers, washer machinery and monitoring that the equipment and process is in optimal condition.

Duties

• Ensures that the machine is running safely and efficiently and effectively while also Quality and GMP’S requirements
• Inspect the packaging machinery prior to starting the packaging process.
• Have the knowledge and ability to operate machinery to control the weights, air leaks, and oxygen levels
• Have the ability to coordinate with the maintenance department any repairs and adjustments as necessary
• Monitor and assure that the codes, dates, tapes, labels, graphics, boxes, etc. are correct
• Adjusting cleats to form boxes
• Adjusting box guides. Adjusting glue guns
• Removing and / or placing the forming tubes, placing the film bar (empty or with film.

• Put the label rolls for the tray and lids, change the label rolls when is necessary
• Confirm that the labels for the trays and tray lids are correct.
• Confirm that the date codes, product codes, and trays are correct.
• Confirm that the temperature tunnel is sealing the trays properly.
• Cleaning, calibrating and programming the machinery.

• Have good communication with crew leaders, packers and Quality Control

Requirements

• Must have 3 years of machine operator experience in food processing
• Must have completed Highschool / GED
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, push/pull/stand/walk/crouch/climb
• Must be able to reach and / or work above shoulder height.
• Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Possess good math skills.

Working Conditions

• Refrigerated environment (cold/wet)
• Vegetable processing (odorous)
