CRAFTENDER
Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

Reporting to the Master of Creative Chaos, Craftenders are The Makerie’s front line folk, responsible for creating a legendary customer experience whether it be in the coffee bar, helping with craft projects, assisting in the retail nook, or providing support during special events and workshops.

CRAFTENDERS DO IT ALL. SOME OF THE THINGS YOU’LL BE EXPECTED TO DO INCLUDE:

  • Crafting and serving artisan coffees and teas according to recipes and/or customer customizations
  • Assembling craft kits Learning and helping customers of all ages with basic arts and craft techniques, ideas and use of specialized tools/equipment
  • Receiving shipments, tracking inventory of supplies and retail products
  • Creating and maintaining beautiful displays as well as selling retail products
  • Performing opening, cleaning, maintenance and closing duties following business, safety and sanitation procedures
  • Receiving, managing and hosting group bookings
  • Special event support including ticketing, decor, set up, vendor relationships, hosting
  • Helping to create creative displays and installations

  • Excellent communication & organizational skills
  • Legal ability to work in Canada

HOURS

Our regular operating hours run from 10:00am - 5:00pm, with shifts extending from 9:30am - 5:30pm.

Evening shifts may be available periodically to service private bookings, specialty workshops, seasonal needs and other events. These events typically extend shifts until 9:30pm, but may extend later depending on the event.

WAGE

Starts at $15.65 per hour

ABOUT THE MAKERIE

For the crafty and not-so-craft, the Makerie offers a rotating curated selection of projects suited to the modern maker. Kits include all materials, instructions and tools and we’ll even have Craftenders on hand to provide guidance and assistance with specialized tools and techniques.

Projects are identified in terms of difficulty and time required to complete, so you can select a project best suited to your needs and capabilities. When you’re done, simply return your tools to the Craftender, then take your handmade creation home.

While crafting, enhance your experience with a cup of artisan coffee, tea and treats from our in- house coffee bar. While your paint or glue is drying, browse our shop for our curated selection of stationery and art supplies, or take a turn at the letter writing station with our vintage typewriter and send something special to your special someone.

Join us for special events like specialty workshops, Meet-the-Maker nights, pop-up shops and other creative experiences.
