Welcome to the Nanoose Bay Cafe, a true west coast hospitality experience with an ocean view! We are a brand new restaurant and excited to be in one of the most spectacular restaurant locations on Vancouver Island. We are an upscale casual restaurant that focuses on seafood with a hint of Asian influence. Our culinary team offers the highest quality ingredients with thoughtfully created menu items which guests keep coming back for!

The Role:

• The individual is responsible for food preparation, food service and cleaning procedures for the pastry section.
• The individual is responsible for maintenance and cleaning respective sections
• The individual maintains the high standards of food presentation and quality
• The individual assures that all the food items prepared and served according to health code standards and practices
• The individual suggests ideas for improvements in raw material, menus, cost savings and equipment
• The individual trains line and prep cooks within pastry on a continual basis.
• The individual is aware of all safety and emergency procedures
• Manage Prep list and delegate tasks where required
• Manage mise en place for service

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Possesses a warm and welcoming personality, is friendly and outgoing, demonstrating a positive attitude and energy at all times
• 1+ year of high-volume kitchen experience an asset
• Strong organization skills, able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Set an example for a respectful, collaborative team while demonstrating appropriate working behaviors

Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
