This full-time position involves working 37.5 hours per week as a Physiotherapist Assistant. Carrying out assigned patient care treatment as prescribed by the Physiotherapist with record keeping, work scheduling, and client related activities. You will be working with our Health Promotor at our new 5,600 sq. ft. gym facility. Working collaboratively with physicians and other FHT allied health professionals within the BCFHT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising physiotherapist
  • Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a patient’s status or treatment interventions
  • Deliver Cardiac and Pulmonary rehabilitation programs
  • Carry out exercise programs with patients on an individual or group basis and assist with training as prescribed by the physiotherapist.
  • Hydrotherapy rehabilitation
  • Contribute to program planning and development of new patient programs
  • Maintain standards of knowledge, skills, and participate in continuing education

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Successful completion of a Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma
  • Experience working in a primary care setting is considered an asset
  • Flexibility to respond to a fluctuating workload and changing environment
  • Knowledge and sensitivity of the social determinants of health in our rural region
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic health records
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Motivated professional who can work with minimal supervision

The Bancroft Community FHT is a HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) employer. This position is eligible for HOOPP.
