Job Summary
An opportunity to utilize your expert analytical and problem management skills

The Blood Services unit establishes and fosters key stakeholder relationships; negotiates and implements agreements related to its key clinical areas; develops, implements, and evaluates strategic initiatives and projects for the efficient and effective provision of services; and supports the Minister of Health in the Minister’s role as a Corporate Member of Canadian Blood Services, which is the national agency responsible for providing blood and blood products to the health care system.

The Senior Policy Analyst will coordinate and lead the research, analysis, development and implementation of strategic policies and legislation for a significant national program.

Job Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in public administration, social sciences, health sciences, humanities or related field AND a minimum of 4 years related, and progressive experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, social sciences, health sciences, humanities or related field AND a minimum of 5 years *related, and progressive experience; OR
  • Diploma in public administration, social sciences, health sciences, humanities or related field AND a minimum of 6 years *related, and progressive experience;
OR
  • A minimum of 7 years * related, and progressive experience.
Related and progressive experience must include all of the following:
  • Demonstrated experience in research, policy development, performance review and financial/economic analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating agreements and working collaboratively in partnership arrangements.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, development, implementing, analyzing, and evaluating strategic and operational programs and policies.
  • Two years demonstrated experience in successful stakeholder relations, internal and/or external to government.
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior management, internal and/or external stakeholders.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in the health sector
  • Experience in the BC Public Service

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
