The Policy Analyst Assistant will support the Business Strategist with researching and analyzing the effectiveness of The City’s Municipal Naming, Sponsorship, and Naming Rights policy and with formulating policy amendments. The position will support the operationalization of the amended policy including assisting with the development of procedural documentation and policy guides to supplement the policy, and assisting with the development of a public-facing naming web portal outlining policy and process for naming participants and potential sponsors.

  • Analyze the effectiveness of the existing Municipal Naming, Sponsorship, and Naming Rights policy by gathering and analyzing data.
  • Consult with internal and external subject matter experts and participants of naming sponsorship of City assets.
  • Research and analyze various approaches for naming and sponsorship of public assets.
  • Research and analyze The City’s unique needs and variances regarding naming and sponsorship of public assets.
  • Consult with internal and external subject matter experts and naming/sponsorship participants to formulate and receive feedback on future policy amendments.
  • Develop procedural guides to address procedural details not regulated by the policy.
  • Develop a public-facing naming web portal, outlining policy and procedures for participants of naming/sponsorship of City assets.
Qualifications
  • A High School diploma or equivalency (for example GED) plus job-related course work in historical research and/or social research methodology.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience in researching microfiche archives is considered to be an asset.
  • Strong communication, consultation, research, and analytical skills are essential.
