OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for full time, permanent Pressure Truck/Hot Oiler Operators in Lac La Biche, Alberta. The successful candidates must have experience working in plant and field environments and have valid oilfield safety tickets.


Position Title: Hot Oiler / Pressure Truck Operator

Compensation: Experience based

Benefits: After successful completion of 3-month probation period

Position location: Lac La Biche, AB

Camp: On-site camp located in Lac La Biche, AB

Shift Rotation: 24/16 or 14/7 or 7/7

Flights: After 3-months for out of province employees only


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Class 1/3 license with a clean commercial abstract
  • Hot Oiler experience: 2+ years
  • Pressure Truck Operator: 2+ years
  • Experience operating HP equipment from 15-40K in pressure
  • Experience operating vacuum trucks and fluid hauling considered an asset
  • Experience operating dump gun, flex and rigid lance systems, 3D tools – gamma jet, warthog, BJV, roto fans
  • Experience working with pumps and maintenance of them (i.e., Changing, packing, plungers, stuffing box, valves & seals.)
  • Experience in tank cleaning, exchanger cleaning and line cleaning
  • Well servicing or rig experience: 2+ years
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Familiar with running data recorders considered an asset
  • Experience with operating boilers considered an asset
  • Mandatory safety tickets required: CSTS 20, H2S Alive First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space and CSO
  • Minimum 2 years oilfield experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive and operate all equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Ability to demonstrate competent operation of equipment
  • Participate in safety program by ensuring all company and customer policies & procedures are adhered to
  • Attendance and participation in toolbox talks and safety meetings, FLRA’s, hazard assessment development, pre-trips/post-trips
  • Willing to work as a team player with coworkers, contractors, and customers
  • Ensure customer and client satisfaction by always providing excellent customer service
  • Follow all local, provincial and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Ensure all safety certificate training are up to date
  • Perform maintenance on units to ensure cleanliness and efficient operation
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines; this includes daily logs, waste manifests etc.
  • Workload and schedules may vary depending on emergency situations and routine work that can be punctuated by very busy periods; this is a 24-hour business and the hours can be erratic
  • Travel is required and driving will occur in all weather conditions to various customer and/or Vertex worksites
  • Ability to lift heavy tools and parts
  • Must be able to work at heights of more than 6 feet and confined spaces when required
