Job Title : Pressure Welder

Location : 18933 34A Ave, SURREY BRITISH COLUMBIA V3Z 1A7

Pay Rate : $40 CAD per hour

Type: : Temp - Contract Period – 3 Months with a possibility of permanent placement after the contract period.

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal pipe and other segments using processes such as GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW and SAW.
  • Repair worn parts of metal products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Able to work in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves and others.
  • Able to demonstrate compliance to company safety procedures and legal obligations.
  • Recognise and report and resolve hazards identified.
  • Confidence and ability to intervene on practices deemed to be unsafe.
  • Engage and promote a zero harm culture.
  • Be aware of physical limitations based upon job requirements.

· Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

· Completion of High School/GED required.

· Journeyman or Red Seal Welder with Level B Certification with Log Book.

· Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) ticket is an asset.

· For British Columbia, Endorsement A is required.

· 2+ years of new and repair welding experience.

· Forklift license, overhead crane certification are assets.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Working Conditions:

· Permanent full-time role.

· Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

· Physically demanding position working actively in a busy environment.

· The position is typically day shift, but may have non-standard hours of working including shift work between 8-12 hours depending on need and including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.

· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions, particularly extreme heat during summer months.

· Loud noise level environment.

· Use of computer equipment and screens are required.

· Personal Protective Equipment is required including steel toed boots, and safety glasses, etc.

· Employee will need to be able to move freely to allow rigging and lifting of heavy and/or oversized parts.

· Applicants must be willing to sign a non-compete and non-disclosure form.

· Completion of a Background Check and medical assessment satisfactory to the company may be required.
